Ever since my sister introduced me to Etsy.com years ago, I have enjoyed making jewelry-related items to sell. I set up my store front, and one store turned into two, and the two turned into three. The first shop I set up, katb8888.etsy.com sells blank ceramic bisque pieces.
The second one, PajegoArtHouse.etsy.com sells jewelry components.
The third, Shookaloot.etsy.com sells my completed jewelry pieces.
While it is a little ridiculous to have three different shops, I've been able to hone my skills in each one of these jewelry-creating areas. While I love the process of creating blanks, and creating finished pieces, I've found that making jewelry components suits my temperament best. I've always loved making 100 million little tiny things, but I often run out of motivation after a day or two, so making cool little parts and pieces has suited me well. I have had several people ask me to assist them in their etsy shop start-ups, and the first thing I would say is, find the unique creations that suit your own personality and temperament. That way you'll want to stick with it and not get too bored. Then, create. Eventually you'll find the niche that perfectly suits you and people will buy.
Happy Creating!
